I have been thinking of becoming an LLC for awhile, but that's the problem -- I've just been kind of thinking about it, not sure if I wanted to, not sure what the next steps were, and so I sort of procrastinated and delayed and just had "yeah, I need to form an LLC" on my list of things to do that never gets done.

Full disclosure, I did not buy this book; I selected if from a bunch of titles in which I was asked to pick one that I wanted. So....what the heck, it's free, I got this book. Let me tell you -- I would gladly have paid the purchase price for this book, and in hindsight I WISH I BOUGHT IT EARLIER.

The other reviews speak well to how useful it is in setting up an LLC. Its usefuleness to me was that it answered some questions and filled in the gaps about an LLC in general, and helped me decide on going forward or continuing to procrastinate.

The Table of Contents gives a good indication of what the book is; the first chapter is "Top ten Questions about LLCs," and although I didn't have some of those questions to start, I should have! The book builds on your knowledge all the way through to the end when you fill out (provided) forms, write your articles of incorporation, and what to do AFTER you've formed the LLC.

All in all, this is a great book for any fence-sitter like me, and whereas of course you should consult your own lawyer, I guarantee this book will assist you in saving lawyers fees by doing a lot of the ground work first.

Strongly recommend.

I had high hopes for this book but it did not meet my expectations. The book does a decent job explaining the difference between an LLC and other entities like C corp, S corp, general partnerships, etc. However, it does not get to the point about (1) steps needed to file an LLC and the common paradigm of filing in Nevada / Delaware and then registering in your home state, (2) choosing where to file for LLC, or (3) ongoing legal and financial care and feeding of the LLC so you do not "pierce the corporate veil." Basically, the book is very light on specifics and does not justify its price. I am returning it, hoping to find a more thorough guide.
