![]() Performance: Live Art Since the '60s $34.95 Performance breaks the boundaries separating art and life, private and public, custom and taboo. Its anarchic experiments have put it at the forefront of the twentieth-century avant-garde. In the four decades since the 1960s there has been an astonishing increase in the number of its practitioners worldwide, and it has radically influenced and altered not only all the other arts, from theater to music to photography, but is also all-pervasive in popular culture, politics, and social attitudes. Juxtaposing startling images and texts, this book presents for the first time the broadest panorama of this multifaceted and elusive art form. From Yves Klein and Piero Manzoni to Joseph Beuys and Robert Wilson, Meredith Monk, Laurie Anderson, Pina Bausch, Matthew Barney, Bill T. Jones, Gilbert & George, Mona Hatoum, and many others, with scores of works from Europe, the Americas, Japan, and Australia, this landmark publication is an indispensable resource for anyone interested in visual culture. 332 illustrations, 123 in color. ![]() earthworks DK25/L DrumKit Microphone System For Live Performance $2,295.00 The DK25/L is for live performance and includes three SR25 microphones: two for overheads and one for kick drum, a KickPad, and a windscreen. The patented cardioid pattern on the SR25 mic provides a more uniform off-axis response and has less susceptibility to acoustic feedback. The DK25/L system is also ideal for use with multi-miked drums (four or more mics) in either live or studio applications. In such cases it is recommended that two SR25s are used for overheads. The SR25 microphone was engineered to be used in the DrumKit System, but can also provide stunning results on a wide variety of instruments and vocals. The SR25 has a high frequency response that extends to 25kHz and will handle up to 145 dB SPL. The performance vs. price ratio of this microphone is excellent. The Kickpad is a pad/EQ processor for all cardioid mics used on kick drums. Just plug the KickPad into the mic line feeding your favorite cardioid kick drum mic and you will experience an incredible instant kick drum sound that is exactly repeatable, every time. This is a real time saver that will work with any cardioid microphone that is used for kick drum. The KickPad is a passive device (requiring no phantom power) that can be used with either condenser or dynamic cardioid microphones. It will provide fantastic results for both recording and live sound applications. ![]() Saturday Night Live (SNL) October 2, 1976 - Eric Idle / Joe Cocker with John Belushi $1.99 I was so glad to find an individual episode of this show rather than buy the whole season. I was looking for the first time Neil Innes and The Rutles appeared on SNL and also held the telethon for Britain in which Neil Innes as Ron Nasty played Cheese and Onions of the piano and also appeared in The Rutles black and white skit from Rutland Weekend Television. My only complaint against Amazon Box is that you can only convert it to .wmv format, so you are restricted to viewing the video on the computer only. ![]() Michael Jackson: Live in Bucharest: The Dangerous Tour $11.98 I had never seen a Michael Jackson Concert or been a fan when he was at the top but I always thought he was a shy, misunderstood person and followed the stories about him and his family. It was a shock to learn of his death. He was so talented, a great humanitarian, humble, gentle, and loving. He left a great legacy to the world. This DVD shows Michael in top form, a master of performance, a truly remarkable musician and dancer. I could watch it over and over. The only part I thought could be eliminated was all the girls that passed out and had to be carried away. |
