![]() Minimus Pupil's Book: Starting out in Latin $23.00 I used this with my 4th and 5th grade GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) students. We loved the class activities that accompanied each chapter, especially when we learned how to sing "Happy Birthday" in Latin and made birthday cards for a teacher's birthday. It was a little expensive to buy the teacher addition as well as all the pupil books, but it was worth it. I knew only minimal Latin before teaching it, but the materials helped me teach it well. ![]() The First Year of Latin $15.95 The text is an open source textbook dating from the early 20th century. This is not a bad thing, but don't expect the graphical and layout niceties of a more modern text. What makes the book worthwhile is the free online Latin lectures associated with it (http://www.linneyslatinclass.com/). ![]() Putumayo Presents: Latin Lounge $15.98 Latin Lounge may be the best Putumayo cd ever! I have enjoyed it over and over again. It arrived in great condition and has quickly become one of my favs! ![]() Workbook for Wheelock's Latin $17.95 I have recently decided to start learning Latin by myself, since I do not have the opportunity in school. I have purchased both the workbook and the Wheelock's Latin book, and together both have helped me to not only read and take notes but to challenge myself as well. The pages can be ripped out and photocopied so you can be sure to test yourself over and over as needed. I am really enjoying this "Dead Language" and I think it's time to revive it. |
