![]() SwissGear Wired Laptop Backpack for 17-Inch Notebook (Red) $120.00 Swiss Gear makes an excellent backpack. And I would have given this a 5 star except that I bought it for my 17 in computer which it does not fit. ![]() Belkin Neoprene Notebook Sleeve for 17-Inch Laptop (F8N049-BR) $34.99 I looked around for a cover for my 17 inch HP laptop bronze addition and couldn't find one anywhere. So I found this one and took a chance ordering it. I recieved it and it worked out perfectly. I recomend this only for thick and big 17 inch laptops. ![]() NEW Laptop/Notebook AC Adapter/Battery Charger Power Supply Cord for Dell Inspiron 1150 1420 1501 1505 1520 1521 1525 1526 6000 6000D 6400 8500 8600 $3.99 I bought this product in June 2009. It worked really well until October 2009. All of a sudden the plug started heating up and now it won't charge anything! If I wanted to rent an adapter for a couple of months that what I would have done, but I wanted to buy it...now I have to buy another one...waste of time and money! ![]() Eeepc 8G White - Linux $249.99 I bought this PC a while ago, and have slowly grown a cultivated hatred for it. It is portable and cute and lightweight and pretty sturdy, but do NOT buy a linux-filled version, even though it is cheaper than a Windows option. I am not a computer programmer, but I really know how to troubleshoot on both PC's and Mac's, problems that stop other people and make them give it to their techy geek friend usually just take a few minutes for me to figure out. I figured that learning how to use another GUI operating system like this port of Linux would be fine. I was horribly wrong. This version of linux is extremely limited. First, it's ugly, with no ability to change the background images, a shallow but pleasing and necessary feature, IMHO. Also, you can only use the programs it comes pre-installed with, basically, limited Open Office software, firefox, a PDF reader, and a few extremely useless games and media apps. The music organizer stopped working for me one day, I can not easily update flash so I can't do lots of fun online things, and a whole load of other things are limited because I find it very difficult to install software. You don't just choose where to put it and click on boxes to install things. You have to learn about an entirely different style of installation, which is incredibly complex for the unitiated. You have to type exacting commands in order to install anything, and the resulting error messages when you screw up are just confusing, not illuminating. I can barely do anything on it because I do not find it fun to spend hours learning a skill I do not have (what basically feels like coding) and to post perplexing errors and inexplicable problems onto message boards and wait who knows how long for a response. Don't think this operating system is easy-to-use. It is only for people with previous experience with Linux on the command prompt level! Not for casual Windows/Mac users or people who dislike learning new languages and constructs in order to install basic software! |
