 Apples to Apples Jewish Edition $29.99 My husband and I received this game as a wedding gift. We love Apples to Apples, so a friend purchased the Jewish Edition for us. It was just as fun as the original, particularly when several Jews are playing the game (to explain terms to those that don't understand them). We liked it so much, we purchased this for a cousin's Bar Mitzvah. Since we don't know this cousin well, it was a fun gift for the occasion.  R & M Jewish Holiday Cookie Cutter Set $8.99 I ordered mine on amazon through a company called Robin's Bookcase, which looks like they changed their name to Judiac Home, based on the changed info in my "previous orders" section. The cutters sold to me are not as pictured. The chai cutter is a large size, the Star of David is very small, and the others are all medium. They aren't even sized like shown. The "menorah" cutter doesn't look like a menorah at all. In fact, my husband asked why I had a christmas tree cutter when he first saw it. Only after decorated did they start to resemble menorahs. The Torah scroll and shofar are slightly different shaped than the ones shown. I'm happy to have Jewish cookie cutters. However, the cookies look strange all different sizes and I'm really unhappy with having christmas tree looking menorahs cookies at my Chanukah party. The company already forgot to include the cutters when they originally shipped my order, so I didn't get the cutters until the 7th day. I either had to use them or have no cookies. I will definitely be selling these used back on amazon and buy new ones from another company. I hate to give a bad review when other companies are probably selling a great product, but I felt there should be a warning that people might not get what they see.  Celebrate: A Book of Jewish Holidays (Reading Railroad) $3.99 Little long--my 5 y.o. was losing interest. But a good basic book to have, espec as a resource book. Informative and well-done. I like that it follows the Jewish calendar too in terms of doing the holidays in order.  Choosing a Jewish Life: A Handbook for People Converting to Judaism and for Their Family and Friends $14.95 Choosing a Jewish Life is easy to read and contains a lot of good information for people convering to Judaism. It is geared toward people approaching marriage to Jews, but not exclusively. |
