The Jam - The Complete Jam
The Jam - The Complete Jam

$29.98
This is the greatest Jam Video made. It's got all the songs from Video Snap (the old VHS tape).
(My review of Paul Weller Hit Parade was inaccurate. I said it had all the Video Snap songs. Never mind. The missing clips "Art School" and "Butterfly collector" can be found here.
You'll also see documentary footage, and live appearances on TV shows, including a live version of "Going Underground" and the great horn sound of The Tube concert from late 1982.
There's a backstage interview with Paul Weller about the band split in 1982, and a Swedish interview on stage.
Also see backstage interviews with Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler, John Weller, and lots of great clips.

Don't let this one get away. (2 DVD set).

I used to LOVE Smuckers jellies but that was over when I read the ingredients and saw Color #4 and Color #5 in the list. Two doctors (a traditional doctor and also a naturopathic doctor) told me to NOT EVER buy any product that had Color# plus any number because they are carcinogens. One of them also told me that they could not understand why manufacturers should add colors to their products.

If you want to make and can strawberry jam or apple butter safely, this book will tell you how.

But the genius of it is that it will also tell you how to make Red Grapefruit Marmalade, Hazelnut and Chocolate Spread, or Fig Bars from those extra figs. From apples and pears to quinces and zucchini, this book has a recipe for it. You can give your pantry an international flavor with Sirop de Liege or Mint Jelly, too.

There are classic enormous recipes with clear directions for the neophyte canner. There are no-can and even no-cook recipes for those who want a bit of the experience (and the flavor!)of home canning without a major commitment. There's a wonderful alphabetical collection of recipes for those who have a few extra lemons or cantaloupes to use up (the lemon curd is wonderful).

Recipes are clear and easy to follow, and call for no rare equipment or exotic methods.

There are also interesting historical and scientific discussions of the various fruits, nuts, and vegetables involved. I had no idea the family history of limes was so complex.

Altogether a satisfying and useful book.

This is the Jam punk style. What I mean the talent and song writing is there but they are playing everything more aggressive and faster and less refined than the next albums because of the times in Britain. I love this album, this is one of their best I like the fury and fast pace.

People remark about how they didn't make it in the U.S.. It's not that their songs were to British. I grew up back then and punk was very much shunned by everybody in the States, there was no punk by any band being played on radio PERIOD! The status quo back then was Journey, Boston, Styx, E.L.O... and if you wanted to go more dangerous you would listen to Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd. Nobody even had heard of the Sex Pistols except a handful of people. Except for maybe Blonde getting on the airwaves around 98% of the U.S. kids didn't know anything about Punk/New Wave until around 1979 when the B-52s and Devo (both from America) barely trickled in and that was only in California and some of the east coast. The Clash and Elvis Costello were the first musicians to finally get any sort of any airplay around 1980. They were the 2 musicians to slightly break into the U.S.. The Jam did start touring the states around that time and since they were not known and no venues yet for Punk/New Wave bands the Jam toured with the Blue Oyster Cult which was a complete failure. By the time the U.S. radio finally opened up thanks to MTV the Jam were on their last leg. That's the main reason why they didn't make it in the U.S.
