![]() The Trump Card: Playing to Win in Work and Life $24.99 I highly recommend this book for anybody in your holiday list, as it's guaranteed to make readers laugh and laugh. Miss Trump, being a Trump, is highly proud of herself and her accomplishments, although those accomplishments so far seem to be limited to working for her father (impressive) and getting a rich guy's son to let her have a jewelry store based on the fact that she is, you know, a rich man's daughter (really impressive). Well, maybe that's unfair. She also worked for a year for a guy she wasn't related to, and wrote a book with advice as profound and life-changing as "don't wear too much perfume." Someone please give this woman an award! If delusion were an art or a science, Ivanka would be a shoo-in for a Nobel. I just wish Amazon had included this wonderful book in the comedy section, where it belongs, because The Trump Card is a joke. ![]() Trump Card (An Abridged Production)[Compact Disc Set]; Playing to Win in Work and Life $26.60 No one is born with these qualities, but they are the key ingredients for reaching goals, building careers, or taking a blueprint and turning it into a breathtaking skyscraper. In The Trump Card, Ivanka Trump recounts the compelling story of her upbringing as the ultimate Apprentice, the daughter of Donald and Ivana Trump, and shares the life lessons and hardwon insights that have made her a rising star in the business world. Whether it's landing that first job, navigating the workplace, or making a lasting impact, Ivanka shows how to: Use uncertainty to your advantage: thrive in any environment. Know what you want: get the most out of any negotiation. ![]() The Gospel According to Coco Chanel: Life Lessons from the World's Most Elegant Woman $19.95 This book at times turned into diatribes that weren't about Chanel as much as they were Karbo's opinions on various aspects of Chanel's life. So in that manner, it included much too much Karbo gospel and not Chanel's. And what nerve she had to complain about Chanel or anyone else not "doing anything" as the world was preparing for another world war. Doesn't she or anyone else know that's what's happening now, at the behest of Israel? She even stated not to ever trust the press, so why isn't she or anyone else looking to other (international) news sources that warn us of this fact? Talk about hypocrisy. Anyway, bottom line, the only reason I gave this two stars is because it led me to get a glimpse of the Mademoiselle enough to want to read a biography on her. So if you too want to learn more about the amazing woman who was Coco Chanel, skip this and choose instead to read a biography by someone who appreciated Chanel and did enough research to make the read about her and not about the author. |
