Just a short while ago, a good-sounding Internet table-size radio would likely carry a price tag near the half-thousand-dollar mark. While there are several models today that can be had for $200 or less, the Sanyo R227 seems to be the only one that gives you good sound in stereo. With a speaker facing from the side at each end, there may be restrictions on where you can place it for maximum effect, but the compact radio has an earphone jack that allow connecting to external speakers. (It also provides inputs for a device such as a CD or MP3 player.) What's most impressive of all, though, is the quality of the sound that this radio delivers. It's well-balanced---neither tubby or tinny. Connecting to Internet stations is simple and relatively quick. The credit-card size remote makes it easy to choose from any of 8 pre-sets that you create. And, for a bonus, this radio also has an FM tuner and dual wake-up alarms. Hook-up using a wireless router brought a more consistent connection than listening to the same Internet stations at a computer served by the same router.

I found this book through the website of one of my other favorite authors, Jeffrey Gitomer, and figured if no-nonsense Gitomer recommended it, it would be worth checking out. Indeed! Rumbauskas' book is an excellent resource for someone who is looking to expand their marketing efforts via the power of the web. It is most useful for those selling "products"; for those of us selling "services" (I'm a marketing/branding consultant) it is still extremely worthwhile. One of the things I like best about the book is the author's pragmatic perspective: he's tried and tested (literally!) many different approaches, and he tells you point-blank what works and why. This is great hands-on/step-by-step stuff, so calling it a "playbook" is a perfect description- - this is a book that you USE, and use NOW; it's not a rah-rah book of strategies or theories. It's full of battle-tested tactics, which I appreciated; I am just getting started implementing them after reading the book this week. Incidentally, throughout the book Rambauskas continually refers you to his website. While this can be distracting, he seems to be doing so with the intent of providing you with the most up-to-the-minute information; in my opinion, to remain relevant a book with so much practical online content must do something like this or it would be frustratingly out-of-date even before it was published. We've had this about a year. It's a good product for the price. A good way to take your favorite internet radio station to the basement workshop or the garage or the bedroom (as long as your router has enough wifi range).

1) Interface is a little clunky but works -- you connect to your wifi and then it re-connects next time you turn it on.
2) Sound quality is OK, not great. Equiv to a mediocre radio.
3) Device is stable and doesn't crash.

Maybe a good way for people to try out internet radio without spending too much money.

It is clear that Corey Perlman spends a lot of his time training and teaching. This book is a valuable addition to the crowded field of "How to Be a Gazillionaire in Internet Marketing" books. It is logically organized and each chapter introduces a new topic. The introductory text in each chapter is fairly short and mostly geared to explaining why the topic covered is important. The meat of the book - its real value - is working through the "Tips", "Exercise", "Walkthrough", and "Resources" sections of each chapter. One can do the activities as they are presented or, as I chose, to go through them after completing a first reading of the book. In either case,the key is ACTION. If you actually complete all of the suggested activities, you will be on your way to successful web marketing. The bonus resources are well organized and quite useful. If only buying one book, this is a great place to start.
