I already have one of these timers, which has been in use off and on for about 1 year. I was going to purchase another one at my local hardware store just in case the one I have malfunctioned, but they no longer carry it, which is why I purchased a couple of them on-line. The only mechanical timers I could find, at three different stores, were mechanical timers without an intermittent mode. I use it primarily in very hot weather. During heat waves, I have it connected to a misting system. The really nice thing is that when in the intermittent mode, it gives my animals a few minutes without misting (which also saves a bit on the water bill as well) to dry off before the misting begins again. I have tried digital timers with misting functions as well, but have had very poor reliability with them. After a week or two, water gets into the electronics and they quit working. Not only do these cost a lot more, but I went through 3 of them in just a month or two. With the mechanical timer instead of an electronic one, these timers are much more reliable (at least for me). The only thing I would really like to see changed about this product is that the timer could run longer. It will only run for 3 hours after you turn it on which means on hot days, I have to be home to restart it every three hours.---or let the water run all day without using a timer at all. ![]() Kendall Intermittent Gravity Feeding Set 500Ml - Model 702605 $10.10 Kendall Intermittent Gravity Feeding Set 500Ml - Model 702605 |
