![]() The Incident $18.98 I have been a big PT fan for several years but now they are (more rightly than wrongly) consistently listed among the "metal" bands which for me means they are on a path I don't enjoy. I'll have to be satisfied re-listening to "The Sky Moves Sideways" and realizing the last good PT recording was "Deadwing". Too bad. ![]() The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time $14.00 This book was simply amazing. The ability of Mark Haddon to get inside the mind and write from the perspective of a boy with Asperger's Syndrome is quite honestly mindblowing. I have 2 brothers with the condition who were diagnosed late, and this has given me insight to understand parts of the ways their thought process works. Short and concise chapters(numbered in primed #s), keep the book very fast paced and your interest locked in. I found myself disappointed that there wasn't more when I reached the end. ![]() Trick or Treat: Best of the String Cheese Incident $18.98 This is clearly the best live album that has come out in 2009. The sound is impeccable and the song selection is also phenomenal. No complaints whatsoever. It is an amazing piece of work. Congrats SCI. ![]() Incident at Oglala - The Leonard Peltier Story $14.98 Great documentary. It is a "must see" for anyone concerned about our 1st "Americans." I also recommend the book: The Trial of Leonard Peltier. Were this man any color other than "Red," he would have been freed long ago. Don't mistake me for some bleeding heart liberal. I believe the victims in most violent crimes rarely receive the attention they deserve. All to often, Americans see the criminals as sympathetic persons. We must all lament the deaths of the FBI agents who lost their lives looking for a suspect in the theft of a pair of cowboy boots. However, Leonard Peltier was convicted because as one juror said: "Someone had to pay." It's a crying shame when a Native American in the 21st century is still viewed by the justice system as not deserving of the justice afforded to all other Americans of any race! Read the book or watch the DVD and you will agree. PS: What the DVD doesn't include is the FBI"s admission that the gun used to convict Leonard Peltier was NOT the weapon responsible for the agents deaths. This admission came years later. Justice for Native Americans has not improved much in 500 years. |
