![]() Created to Be His Help Meet: Discover How God Can Make Your Marriage Glorious $13.95 I can see how you would either love this book or hate this book. I LOVED it because I was ready to receive the message. If you're ready to focus on YOUR God given role as a wife and NOT your husband's role, then this book is for you. This books inspires you to be the woman God wants you to be no matter who or what type of man you're married to. I also highly recommend The Excellent Wife by Martha Peace. It's more along the lines of a biblical study guide to help you be the woman God wants you to be from an author who was trained as a counselor in biblical principals, but doesn't have all the letters and stories to illustrate a concept like this book has. Even if you don't completely agree with Debi Pearl, I say use good judgment and take all the valuable gems from this book you can. My marriage changed quickly for the better since I applied the principals taught in this book. Even when I wasn't acting differently, my husband responded differently to me because my heart and thoughts were more in line with what God's word said they should be. I've read that 80 percent of our communication is nonverbal. This book as well as the others recommended help change YOU from the inside out. If submission and respect towards your husband is a problem because your holding in too much anger and resentment in your heart than I recommend looking into The way of Agape by Nancy Missler at [...]. Missler wrote an excellent bio called Why Should I Be the First to Change. ![]() Five Simple Steps to Emotional Healing: The Last Self-Help Book You Will Ever Need $14.00 It would be good to hear of more people who use this technique because it really does work. This is a technique you can call on at any time; you don't need to make an appointment with a therapist; you don't need to spend time with additional self help books. Just use the technique! ![]() The No-Cry Sleep Solution: Gentle Ways to Help Your Baby Sleep Through the Night $15.95 This book works great. Actually it works so well that the day we brought it in the house and started reading it (and making plans about how to adjust baby's routines), he started sleeping better. Seriously, it was magical. :) But beyond the coincidence I think the key message the book offers, and the one which has worked for us so well, is that daytime routines lead to established nap routines and better night sleep. Our 13 months old who had not slept through the night for 8 months straight started to sleep in longer and longer stretches. Now, unlness he is sick or teething, he sleeps from 7.30 pm to 7 am; it's true he may still wake up once or twice but has learned to self-soothe. Great resource for people who don't like the sound of the 'extinction method' of other sleep specialists. ![]() I am not sick I don't need help $19.95 A good instructional book on how to speak to someone differently who has a brain disorder to help them see the need for medication and therapy. Mirrors what I've been learning in a NAMI (National Association for Mental Illness) class I'm currently taking. |
