Guitar Chord Bible (Music Bibles)
Guitar Chord Bible (Music Bibles)

$14.99
Simple, easy to follow layout and well explained format with fingering alternatives for every chord under the sun. I'm learning the acoustic guitar as a worship leader and this will come in very useful as I navigate chord charts and decipher new chords that come my way. I like that it's relatively small and is spiral bound also.
Mel Bay Guitar Chords
Mel Bay Guitar Chords

I teach guitar lessons at a small town Fine Arts Center. This book is very helpful in that it shows the chord diagram, a picture of someone making the chord, and the notes that make up the chord for those that read music. It has proved helpful to all ages (6 to 75 that I teach) and I find myself referring back to it weekly myself...you can always still keep learning. The only things I would change are thet I wish it went further in the barre chords(it cals them moveable chords) and I wish it showed every sharp and flat as an either/or (A# is also Bb, C# is also Db, etc.). It shows this on some of them and it just confuses my students as to why it shows it on some and not all of them. Overall, it is still my favorite beginner book and one that even old timers like me can still refer back to as needed. KT

The "First Stage" Guitar Chord Chart - Learn How To Play The Most Commonly Played Guitar Chords

$11.50
This was not exactly what I expected. There is very little instruction included, The First Stage Guitar Book is about the same. Try to find these books and look at them before buying.
The Guitar Chord Deck (Guitar Decks)
The Guitar Chord Deck (Guitar Decks)

$9.99
It seems like there are millions of chord and scale books out there and after looking at several I decided on these. I bought both the Chord and the Scale Deck. Here's what I love about these:

They are easy to read...no guessing if you are in the right positon or if your fingers are on the right frets

It sticks to the most popular chords of C, G, D, A and E, which is perfect for a beginner or someone comming back after 20 years like myself.

The front of the card shows the fingering, flip it over and you are shown the chord again with a small description, the scale and arpeggio. Don't know what an arpeggio is, just look it up in the small glossary

The size, though too big to keep in my case, it is just the perfect fit in your hand. All the cards are attached and all you do is fan out the deck, find the chord or scale you want and play away!

It's a great idea and I would really recommend these to anyone.
