This book makes me want to fly over to Greece right now. It is such a lovely book, with beautiful photos!! A must for anyone who has gone or is planning to go to Greece!

We knew Frommer's was geared more toward people with a larger travel budget than we had, but we were still disappointed with this guide. It didn't offer intra-city travel options and most of the museum/sight information was outdated. We missed Rick Steves on this leg of our trip.

If your idea of seeing Greece is flying over it in a helicopter, this DVD is for you. Frankly I hoped for something more. To be sure, the scenery is beautiful--albeit from afar. But travel posters show that much. It would have been nice, however, to see places at eye level, up close and to meet the people.

The narration is a bit superficial and not always easy to understand because of the accent, especailly with the intrusive background music. A view of the Acroposis doesn't really need violins or pianos to punch it up a little.

Surely there is a better travelogue of Greece than this. I'll keep looking for it.

I have bought several eyewitness books for traveling. For me when you have tour guide talking or as you are getting around on your own, the ability to get a short history of what you are looking at is very helpful. I don't care to read a long history at the scene, I usually do that before I travel. Eyewitness really helps for these trips.
