Got the generator for lightning my power panel which I needed to replace. Worked fine the first 6 hours. Next day, fuel was running out of the carburetor. No expertise here, but took off float bowl, air cleaner cover, sprayed choke/carburetor cleaner, and applied air pressure . Still, same problem. Used flashlight and batteries to finish my panel wiring. Next day took bowl apart and noticed gas inside the plastic float. Drained float and put a thin coat of Krazy Glue around the seam where it seemed to be leaking. With a smile, put it back together, but same problem of leaking gas around the carburetor. Next day, took bowl apart, experimented with the float tang that regulates gas flow at the pin valve, and finally success. Local small engine repair folks told me they knew of nothing that would work other than a replacement float. Had used similar glue on an outboard motor lower gear housing and still working fine after several years.

Followed the instructions to the letter and it fired up on the first pull. Noise level is fair for such a large engine and the power output is up to standard. It's mostly used to run a 1 horse, 240v well pump over 300 feet down. I installed the battery and it is nice to have but not necessary. This unit starts easily and I would only buy a battery again if it was going to be started by someone unable to pull the rope. The main breaker is a good feature, you can keep everything connected and utilize the switch. You'll need 1 quart of oil, 10w-30, otherwise everything is in the box (except gas...)

THE ORDERING PROCESS WAS A BIT CONFUSING DUE TO IMMEDIATE CHECKOUT WHICH AUTOMATICLY ADDED THE SHIPPING WHICH WAS SUPPOSED TO BE FREE. AFTER A FEW PHONE CALLS AND A PROMISE TO REMOVE THE FIRST ITEM AND BEING TOLD TO PLACE A NEW ORDER I NOW WAS GETTING TWO GENERATORS ONE WITH FREE SHIPPING AND THE SECOND ONE WITH SHIPPING. ANOTHER CALL WAS MADE AND AFTER A THREAT THAT THEY WOULD ONLY DO THIS ONE TIME THEY REMOVED THE SECOND GENERATOR WITH SHIPPING AND CREDITED MY CREDIT CARD. THE GENERATOR ARRIVED AND AFTER OPENING THE BOX I NOTICED TWO MOTOR MOUNTS WERE BROKEN. I HAVE CONTACTED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND AS OF TWO MONTHS I HAVE NOT RECEIVED NEW MOTOR MOUNTS. PERHAPS AMAZON CAN HELP SPEED UP MY MOTOR MOUNT REPLACEMENT. THANKING YOU IN ADVANCE, ROBERT

I did my homework for 2 months this past winter. After several power outages and a severe ice storm in southern Ohio, I decided on this unit. I bought it in March. Just fired it up to get ready for this season. Thought I would have complications, the unit did set in the barn for about 7 months after delivery. I added the oil, poured in fuel, hit the start and away it went! Have only used it for minor appications so far, no power outages yet, but think I will be well prepared in my all electric home with this baby. Well worth the money considering the others on the market.
