![]() Aim and Ignite [Explicit] $5.00 All I really have to say is that this is hands down the best CD I've purchased all year. It's amazing. ![]() Fisher-Price Fun-2-Learn Computer Cool School $69.99 My almost 3-year old daughter got this as a present just after she turned two. She has enjoyed it a lot. It did take her quite a while to learn to navigate herself, though that's not surprising at her age. She can now do pretty well on it independently, and has enjoyed many parts of it. But we are now looking at add-on software for her 3rd b-day. A few months of 1-2 times per week use, and she's mostly "done" with the original program. We have not used the letter tracing functions -- just a little tricky for her hands to manage, but perhaps soon. But the keyboard itself is great for little hands to navigate, and she did finally get the touch pad on the side (it was hard for her to press hard enough while staying in the right place at first). We certainly like it enough to invest in more software for it. ![]() Wacom Bamboo Fun $199.95 The tablet adds the feature of touch which allows finger control over various screen, web and picture manipulations. If you're not used to using touch controls, as in the Apple iPhone, then it takes some getting used to. The tablet was even bigger and about half the price of a Wacom tablet I bought two years ago that did not have the touch control capability so I would say it's gotten to be a much better value. ![]() Aim and Ignite [CD on Demand] $12.98 While I'm a big fan of power pop ( done right, that is ), I wasn't sure what to make of this album when I first heard snippets from it. I must say that it is a rare and pleasant surprise. It's a well-crafted, great-sounding, and just plain fun to listen to album. It may at first seem to be over-produced, but it's not. It may at first seem to lack depth, but it doesn't. It's pure power-pop all the way, but not in the same vein as Badfinger or Big Star - it's more of a weird kind of melding of Queen and ELO, with a dash of Cheap Trick thrown in. The songs are all catchy and melodic, and the lyrics are pretty darn good to boot. Great ( big ) little album these guys put out. |
