 When I Was Little: A Four-Year-Old's Memoir of Her Youth $6.99 I am impressed with the book itself and really like Jamie Lee Curtis so I wanted the hardback copy, not paperback. Apparently, the hardcover is not stocked everywhere and I had to choose a seller. The book was advertised as a "bargain book" and said it might have a small mark stating this. Actually, the book came without the cover and the book itself has not got the cute picture that is on the jacket. I was going to give it as a gift and don't feel that I can do that without the jacket. To add insult to injury, it comes with the packing slip stating that it was advertised as having no jacket - I reread the description and still don't see that! They also shipped it in a bubble envelope and the corner was crunched. So, buy Jamie Lee Curtis's books but we should all probably let sellers know that we want to know EXACTLY what we are getting so we can plan accordingly. In all fairness, due to the shipping damage, the seller would probably replace it but the birthday is in 3 days so it doesn't seem worth the hassle (I am 25 miles from the post office). It's particularly good for a quiet-time activity or in the car seat. We first gave it to him at 6 months. He's 12 months now and still enjoys it.  Live at Broadway Dance Center: Creative Movements for 3 and 4 Year Olds With Toni Noblett $49.99 I ordered this DVD for my granddaughter who is 4 years old. She really enjoyed it. Her brother who has been evaluated as autistic watched some of it. It was not what I expected. It is not the type of video that is fun to watch over and over. At four years old, this is how you know the video is enjoyed by smaller children sometimes. I thought the teacher was very good and sincere. She even addressed autistic children. My granddaughter is not autistic. For the price that I paid, I would not recommend it to a friend unless the friend's child was serious about dancing. Although, the teacher in the film said you can never tell who will become a serious dancer. I enjoyed watching the film with my granddaughter. |
