The Waltons - The Complete First Season ![]() Everything I Know About Lean I Learned in First Grade $15.26 This is a unique and compelling book about the Lean methodology. It's written from the perspective of the author visiting his daughter's 1st grade class and discovering methods for teaching and managing the classroom that seem very similar to the Toyota Production System. This is a great book for introducing people to Lean -- maybe particularly for those outside of traditional manufacturing settings. My mom, an elementary school teacher, found it a good read in terms of ideas that she would want to see in her school. But that's not the primary intent of the book. It shows that Lean methods and concepts are pretty universal and can be applied in any setting. It shows that Lean helps get the most out of everyone's ability and is not a "mean" cost-cutting methodology or anything to be afraid of, which is true of Lean if it's implemented properly. Very good book. Fun for those who already know Lean, instructive for those who are new to Lean. ![]() The Ugly Woman's Guide to Internet Dating: What I Learned From 70 First Dates $15.95 First off I have to say that Rosemary is by no means an "ugly woman"! She is very charming, witty, pleasant, intelligent and attractive. In her book she shares very personal and intimate details about her internet dating experiences. And for that she is very courageous! As an "ugly woman" myself I can relate. I found myself in her situation as well and as I read her book I relived every moment. I found myself laughing at some of the experiences because I had also been there. I experienced her every emotion as I read this book. I found myself choking back the tears as well. (I am all but certain we dated the same guys, except we are hundreds of miles apart.) Every reader will enjoy this book whether they are man or woman and have internet dated or are contemplating internet dating. I wish Rosemary and Wayne a "happily ever after" ending! |
