Born into a German Jewish family she joined the Communists at fifteen, and then fled to Moscow after being accused of treason in Berlin. From there she was sent to Brazil with Luis Carlos Prestes to instigate and organise revolution there. The couple became lovers and organised an underground Communist revolutionary movement over a two year period in Rio. However, when the revolt failed the two were arrested, and the pregnant Olga extradited back to Germany, now under Nazi rule. |
