![]() Excel 2003 Bible $39.99 What? You say do you like Excel and you do not have this one? I am a quite advanced Excel user, I bought this one and was in doubt. As the complexity increases as you read, I actually skimmed through the fist half of the book... but finally I found few things that were worth any price they'd charge me for the book. I also realize that the book is A MUST for anyone trying to improve their Excel skills. Of course there are other ways, but if you ask for effectiveness and valuable material, this is the one. ![]() Excel 2007 Formulas (Mr. Spreadsheet's Bookshelf) $44.99 When I went to access the CD to copy off the e-book and example files, McAfee flagged the CD as having a virus (I don't remember which one) and blocked access to the file. I noticed one other recent comment about the same issue so I suspect multiple copies of the book have the problem. I have contacted the publisher to see if I can get access to the files another way. If not, I will contact Amazon about returning the book. Used a previous version of the book and learned several great time saving tips. As a result, getting the bad CD was a bummer. ![]() Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 $149.95 At first I did not like how different this was, but after I became familiar with it I like it. However, it is difficult to figure out some advanced options that I knew of before Office 2007. ![]() Microsoft¢î Office Excel¢î 2007: Data Analysis and Business Modeling (Bpg -- Other) $39.99 This book is an excellent, comprehensive explanation of how to leverage the analysis tools in Excel 2007. The case study approach for the general tool topics helps you connect the type of analysis you may need with the appropriate tool set. The table of contents addresses all the tools and the first page of each chapter lists different cases where the tool can be applied, so it's quick to figure out the best approach to finding what you need. The accompanying CD with example files is extremely helpful. It allows you to examine the raw data and how the different tools are applied. I would recommend this book as both an effective primer for someone not so familiar with Excel's more powerful tools and a nice reference for those who simply need to look up specific formulas or approaches. It covers a wide range of situations where Excel's analytical tools can help. |
