![]() Embedded Linux System Design and Development $73.95 I bought the book because the table of contents showed that the book covered the topics comprehensively. However, there is a serious lack of depth. I think the book is good for students who are just learning about linux and embedded systems, but not as useful for the more serious and experienced developer. ![]() Embedded Linux $39.99 Because of my job, I wanted to know more and was recommended this book. I've had it for a year and I still haven't finished the entire thing. I'm 95% done. The beginning of the book is fairly good and summarizes embedded linux. The rest of it, with examples it pretty indepth.. or atleast I thought. Reading about the GPL had some interesting points but I found that you can find all this information summarized better on the net. ![]() Linux for Embedded and Real-time Applications, Second Edition (Embedded Technology) $57.95 I can not say that it's the best book I have ever read but I think it's simple to read. A lot of pictures make the steps easy to follow, the CD is also helpful. Furthermore, the develop is done on an old PC. This make the starting point easy and cheap but at the same time make also the limitation of the book. Some important topics are not discussed due to the development board. As first reading, I can recommend it but you need a second reading. As second reading I would recommend "Building Embedded Linux Systems" ![]() Embedded Linux(R): Hardware, Software, and Interfacing $64.99 the book does not contain enough information to be usefull. I would recommend other books such as "building Embedded Linux Systems" |
