![]() Designing Successful e-Learning, Michael Allen's Online Learning Library: Forget What You Know About Instructional Design and Do Something Interesting (Michael Allen's E-Learning Library) $35.00 I bought this book over a year ago but haven't yet written a review. This is a practical, hands-on book for those who are in the training business. Whether you currently build e-learning courses or are looking to, this is a good resource for both background knowledge and helpful tips. The author has deep experience and authority in the field of online training and it shows because the examples and case studies are detailed and well-presented. The flow of the book is clear and oriented toward readers who are already familiar with e-learning. I agree with another reviewer who said that there isn't as much new in the book as the title may suggest, but this is still a good resource that should be part of your e-learning knowledge base. ![]() Michael Allen's Guide to E-Learning $36.95 This is one of two books for an online e-Learning class I am taking. Well organized. Easy to understand. Clear examples and exercises. CD easy to order and helpful. I was able to put the design ideas into use at work my first day at work after reading the design chapter. Began to move from boring, PowerPoint-like Captivate modules to entertaining, challenging modules that engage the user. I strongly recommend this book for designers, managers, and executives/business owners who are or are considering implementing or improving their e-learning offerings! ![]() eLearning Weekly $0.99 eLearning Weekly consists of tips, tutorials, case studies, and product reviews related to learning and technology. Common topics include eLearning, mobile learning (mLearning), social learning (a.k.a. learning 2.0), and more.Kindle blogs are fully downloaded onto your Kindle so you can read them even when you're not wirelessly connected. And unlike RSS readers which often only provide headlines, blogs on Kindle give you full text content and images, and are updated wirelessly throughout the day. ![]() Better Than Bullet Points: Creating Engaging e-Learning with PowerPoint $50.00 This is a great book for understanding the fundamentals of e-learning design, as well as seeing how a user-friendly presentation tool, PowerPoint, can be used for getting started with e-learning. The book has a nice mix of theory and practical advice and examples. I recently recommended the book to some soft-skills trainers who were just starting to think about putting some of their face-to-face instruction online. This book was perfect for them because they are skilled and experienced facilitators, but not designers, of learning. |
