 Discovery Kids Smart Animals Scanopedia $29.99 I'm sorry, I know others love this, and this concept is good and it does work okay but there are major problems: 1. you get a huge poster with hundreds of animals on it but the scanner only tells you about eight! I'm not kidding, the rest of the poster is just wasted space. To get the rest of the poster to work, you are FORCED to buy more animals! And they only unlock eight at a time! So to unlock the whole poster I think you have to buy 16 more posters. I'm amazed this hasn't been noted in any reviews. 2. the scanner has no volume control or off switch. It goes off by itself after sitting for five minutes with a loud sound effect. No off switch? Really? No volume? Amazing. 3. However, the scanner and concept do work, but you just have to be ready for the design flaws and forced to invest in many more animals.
