Techno is a term used too loosely today. When I think of "techno", I think of fast, high bpm, purely electronic melodies with structure. Sadly, of these things Metal Spark is not. To be fair, the material on Corrosive is electronic, but it is slow, tinny sounding, and there is barely enough structure to remember any track after listening to it. This is a shame because some of the releases on the Blueroom label are quite good. If I had to place this release under a sub-genre of techno, I would place it in the noise catagory with artists like Bedrock, Main, and Beefcake. If bands like the ones I just mentioned catch your fancy, then check out Metal Spark. If you are a new fan of the electronic music scene, allow me to point you in the right direction. For fast instrumental techno: Check out bands like Juno Reactor, Astral Projection and mostly anything under the Ceiba or Phonokol record label. For industrial/ebm: Look into bands like Funker Vogt, VNV Nation, Wumpscut, and most bands under the Metropolis record label.
