![]() Ferroud: Symphony in A Major / Serenade / Chirurqie Suite / Sarabande /March from "L'Eventail de Jeanne" $8.99 Ferroud's three-movement symphony is an exciting score, given here is a very creditable performance. I didn't know what to expect -- something post-impressionist in a Poulenc vein perhaps -- but the music here is tough and serious, more reminiscent of Honegger or the later Roussel at their best (with occasional whiffs of Stravinsky's Sacre). Ferroud died young, at 36, in an automobile accident and left only a few major works, so even the French in their wisdom have forgotten him. But a rewarding investigation. I hope some day to hear the String Quartet. ![]() Mikasa Cheers Cordial Glasses, Set of 6 $50.00 I own a few varieties of Mikasa Cheers glasses (Old fashioned, martini, high ball) and all of them are very nice. They're quality pieces of glass and have withstood several years of repeated use without any scratches, cracks, or other blemishes. They are also very stylish with their variety of etchings that add to their character. It's nice that each is unique; it gives dinner guests the sense of receiving something special when their glass is different from the others. Perfect for serving up after dinner drinks like Amaretto or Baileys, these flutes hold 2 ounces of liquor. ![]() Artland 6-Piece Ribbon Cordial Set $22.00 I admit I am not very knowledgeable with drinking glassware. Cordial.. does that mean really tiny? These are the CUTEST glasses and great as a conversation peice... but wow they are small. Each glass in my estimate is about 2-3 ounces. Another note, they are hand blown but do not have the awesome hand blown bubbles in the glass. ![]() Chocolate Covered Cherry Cordials, All Milk Chocolate $26.35 I enjoyed these very much, came with a cold pack in the package to keep the chocolate cool and from melting. Very good stuff! |
