A Beautiful Presentation Amos Lassen The first edition of this commentary on the book of Leviticus was published 500 years ago and it was known as the Rabbinic Bible. What distinguished it was that the text was in the middle of the page and the commentaries surrounded it. This is the way it looks today as well with the Hebrew verse centered on the page and translated into English and surrounding it are the medieval commentaries--Rashi, Ibn Ezra, Nachmanides and they are all translated into English. Other commentators are included as well--Abarbanel, Sforno, Bekhor Shor, Masorah, Kimhi and others. The Biblical passage has two translations--one is the older 1917 JPS translation and the other is the newer 1985 It is wonderful to have all of this knowledge so close at hand. There is a great deal of information here and we finally have it all in English. I have had a great deal of pleasure just by looking at two verses and receiving an entire new way to look at Torah. My wife is a beginner and I'm an accomplished golfer... we both benefited from this helpful and humorous instructional DVD. Gary McCord's presentation is very upbeat and the tips are spot on. Covers nearly every aspect of the game -- the mechanics of the golf swing is worth watching by anybody that plays golf. Two thumbs up on this one! |
