![]() LEGO Star Wars Clone Walker Battle Pack $12.99 this toy is pretty fun at first but the little pieces sometimes get lost. the only reason I gave it one star on durable is because it is very, very easily broken overall this toy is OKAY ![]() Star Wars Clone Wars Ultimate Blaster $49.99 My son bought this with his allowance money and it is the absolute coolest thing I have ever seen! You can basically take apart the whole gun into I think 8 pieces and everything, except the shoulder stock, makes a fun clicking noise when you put it together. In addition, the ammo clip and sniper sight can be put on about 5 different places making even more differnet gun configurations. Each of the gun barrel configurations makes a different firing noise (one sounds like the AT-AT's main laser blast or a similar large laser cannon round and others are typical Star Wars gun sounds - all very different from eachother) and you can set the gun for single-shot action (plus huge explosion) with the clip taken off or rapid fire mode (plus huge explosion after 5-10 shots) with the clip in place. Also you run out of ammo after awhile sending it in to single-shot mode until you "replace" the clip (remove and put back on). I rated it as a 1-Star on educational because, you know, it's just a gun... I guess it educates you on Star Wars stuff. My 9-yr old son has been wanting a Star Wars gun for ages and this one is so much better than the typical Stormtrooper rifle or Han Solo pistol. Theoretically you could buy 2 guns and start piecing everything together to some monster weapon, but my son & I haven't geeked out that far - yet... If they'd had this one Star Wars Ep4 came out 30 yrs ago, Kenner would have made a killing!!! This has to be my favorite Star Wars toy that I've ever come across and that's saying something. And the price is REALLY reasonable - the best of both worlds. ![]() Hasbro Star Wars Clone Wars - AT-TE Assault Squad $24.99 I got this at target for my grandson because he was waiting for a month to get it to use on his AT-TE. He says that the troopers are awesome and thinks that the standard clone troops look like green company troops fron the clone wars episode cloak of darkness and that the gunner kind of looks like a clone pilot. There are marks that resemble those on the trooper that comes with the AT-TE on their shoulders. ![]() The Clone Betrayal $7.99 Wow, what a change in tone. All the previous books basically ran across the lines of there being a big battle with a clear cut enemy and Wayson Harris surviving against the odds resulting in a happy ending. This time though, the enemy are their own creators, and after 9 years of repeated backstabbing against him and his kind, the clones, Wayson is sick and tired of it all, and his true enemies, the generals, admirals and politicians, have inadvertantly given him the hardware to plan justice. The ending is not what I usually expect in a Harris novel, but at least the next few books will prove to be interesting. My personal feeling is that things Wayson's world will become closer to home for a while, but the danger he faces will become more personal. This is just my opinion, so dont shoot me for being totally specking it, ok? I must admit I had a qualm with this book. The problem was with the witchunt the politicans conducted, and the scapegoat they chose. After losing 178 out of 180 planets, I dont think it would have shamed anyone to simply have said that the aliens had technology that was far too advanced. It's not like they didnt try to repel the aliens and by finding a human, albeit clone, scapegoat, they have forced humanity to focus on learning how to deal with human like people, instead of advancing ways of countering the alien's technology. It also becomes more difficult to send in the troops because if the government is really an extension of the defunct USA, then the moment a single soldier dies, there will be rumblings of discontent from the general population. Allowing the use of clones allows thm to continue to be used as cannon fodder. Look at Vietnam, Iraq I and Iraq II and Afganistan. If there was another fight of some kind, the political backlash will hobble them. That was the reason for the development of clones in the first place. No government would be able to survive if a natural born army lost 97% of its troops. In fact, they'd never be able to obtain the millions needed to repel an invasion unless they introduced conscription, which again would eventually lead to public discontent. That's enough for now. Despite the long paragraph above, I thoroughly recommend this book as part of the ongoing Clone saga. I feel it is a significant book in the life of Wayson Harris. |
