![]() Kidsongs - A Day at the Circus $9.99 My wife first bought this video (VHS) after it first came out about 20 years ago. Our kids loved it then, and her kindergarteners loved it during that whole time. Now our grandkids love it and we bought it in DVD form because 1) we're afraid the tape will break! and 2) we bought copies for our grandkids, too. It is a masterful production, still today. One advantage of the DVD over VHS: you won't be rewinding all the time like we've done! One word of caution: the songs have a way of sticking in your head. You'll find yourself humming them all day, and the next day, and.... ![]() If I Ran the Circus (Classic Seuss) $14.95 I first received this book from my sister about 40 years ago as a gift for my children. Now, I bought it for a grandchild. It's a fun read. ![]() The Circus: 1870-1950 $200.00 A literally enormous book (about 30 x 50cm and thick) it is the absolute definitive collection of all things circus. For anybody who has ever wanted to collect circus memorabilia but couldn't afford it, this is your go to book. The illustrations are huge, the photos amazing, with every aspect of circus days of old covered. This is a beautiful book to keep out for everybody to share (and you will be hard pressed to fit it in a book shelf anyway). I have always loved old circus poster art and ephemera and over the years tried to collect what books I could on the subject but have always been disappointed with the lack of one really fabulous book about it. Then I saw this book on Martha Stewart's show, of all places, but it was a smaller version. Seeing that it was a Taschen I knew it would be good. When I received my purchase in the mail, I couldn't believe how huge, informative and gorgeous it was. It actually exceeded my expectations by a mile. So don't hesitate to buy....this ones a keeper. ![]() See the Circus (Lift the Flap Series) $5.95 This is a great board book for kids, and we find out the name of the man in the yellow hat. All of HA Rey's "Lift the Flap" books are great. |
