 The Kid Who Only Hit Homers (Matt Christopher Sports Classics) $4.99 This book was on my son's summer reading list. I thought it would interest him since he enjoys baseball, but he could not get through it. I finally read it to him, and honestly it was painful for me to read as well. It was a cute story, however.  Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal $14.99 I feel like this book gave me a new insight to the teenage years of Christ, what could have happened, what might of happened. If you read this with your mind open you will enjoy it.  The Journey $8.99 I own most of the other Chanticleer albums, and I love their delicious harmonies. The sweet singing I was looking for was lacking here, at least in selections four through eleven. In fact, the harshness (could a couple of tenors be taken out and gently shot?) rattled my teeth. Perhaps this was the intention, but I'm getting to the stage when I don't have time to waste. I want beautiful music, and I don't think that's too much to ask. |
