I bought this game because it said that you could race , win money, have horses, and a own a stable too. You can only have up to 3 horses and all of them are males. You don't get to breed your own horses you have to breed them to the horses of the stable's owner. As far as I have tried you can't bet on the horses. In a race the other jockeys can push and shove you causing you to loose the race. You don't ever get to own your own stable you just go to a more expensive stable. There are basically two race tracks that you go to, each with a sand and dirt part. The people who made the game didn't tell the truth about it. I couldn't believe how different the back of the cover of the game was to the actual game. I was deeply disapointed with paying for a game that was totally different from what was said. The graphic aren't great and the people just don't look right! This game is one I would recommand to a person who doesn't want to learn about breeding horses or really racing them. The game to me is really only fun when you don't have any horse racing games at all!! This game is not worth the price, it should be given away for free! People shouldn't be able to create games and put things that you can't do in it on the cover so people will buy it! I used up all od my allowance to buy this game! It wasn't fair that you buy a game that on the cover has nice graphics and is lied to on the back cover! THIS GAME IS NOT A GAME YOU WANT IF YOU WANT TO HORSE RACE!!!This game is far from the best and I hope my review helped you with considering if this is a game you want or not.
The Catch: One Play, Two Dynasties, and the Game That Changed the NFL
The Catch: One Play, Two Dynasties, and the Game That Changed the NFL

THE CATCH is 250 pages long, and printed on bright white (but not glossy) paper. The cover has a color photograph of a football scene, but there are no other photographs, at least in the version of the book I received in the Vine Program. The author is a professional journalist. There is a 3-page forward by Joe Montana.

The book concerns the NFC Championship Game of January 10, 1982, held in Candlestick Park in San Francisco, CA. But that is about all that I could understand in the entire book. The book mentions many facts about this particular game, about other football games, and about various football players and their coaches. We read about many people, including Tom Landry, Hank Stram, Joe Montana, John Madden, and Roger Staubach. You have to be a hermit living in Samoa to have never heard of these people. On the other hand, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY HELPFUL if the book provided a 1-page, standalone, biography about each of these people. In fact, I would strongly recommend a 1-page, standalone biography about every person mentioned in this book. A little 1-page biography for each player or coach would have gone a long way in providing a suitable context for understanding what this tiny book is about.

Furthermore, there are many technical terms that the reader might have heard of, but cannot fully understand. These technical terms include: Defensive back; Lineman; Wide receiver; Draft; Super Bowl; Primary Receiver; Secondary Receiver; NFC; NFL; Spring right option, Sidelines; 44-yard field goal; End zone; and others. I freely admit that I do not understand any of these terms. My profession is biochemistry, and I am capable of writing a book on biochemistry that spews out hundreds of unfamiliar terms. (In fact, you can see my 1000-page biochemistry book on Amazon.com, Nutritional Biochemistry.) My book provides definitions and it provides contexts. My book is very gentle to the reader.

In contrast, THE CATCH will likely to be seen as harsh and impenetrable to readers who are not familiar with football. To conclude, it would have been VERY HELPFUL if this book had provided a 1-page definitions of NFC and the history of NFC, NFL and the history of NFL, a definition of wide receiver, and some examples of what a wide receiver does, etc., etc., etc.

Furthermore, this book needs to provide a Table for each of the teams named, where the table discloses the names of all of the players and each of their positions. Tables of this type would have provided a context for understanding the book.

For the above reasons, this book deserves no more than THREE STARS. Another reviewer commented that the book was written like a magazine article. I agree. The "book" was written like a magazine article; it was not written like a book. I have read the following sports book. I recommend the following sports book, because it was written like a book, not like a magazine article: Spinning the Globe: The Rise, Fall, and Return to Greatness of the Harlem Globetrotters by Ben Green
