![]() Practical Carriage Building $26.95 This book is a two volume set in one book. Unless I was learning to be a wheelwright using 19th century technology (Volume 1 - first half of the book) or was learning to be a wheelwright using 19th century technology (Volume 2 - a large part of the lead in to Vol 2 is a condensed version of the data from Vol 1) I would not recommend this book. Vol 2 does go into the building of wagon bodies and fith wheels which could be of use to modelers or restorers, but having said that, I think there are much better sources for primary data available for general wagon construction. This book is a reprint of information published over 100 years ago. As an historical reference to "how it was done back in the day", the book is interesting. Depending on what you would need the infomation for, this could be a very good reference. For my needs, I found it lacking. ![]() Fisher-Price Precious Places Swan Carriage $11.99 Sturdy and good quality. Made of solid plastic - kinda like lego plastic but softer to the touch. Can't wait for my 3yr old to open these xmas gifts (purchased the swan castle as well). She is such a girly-girl so I know she is going to absolutely love these toys! ![]() Disney Princess Favorite Moments Cinderella Horse and Carriage $14.99 I found this item used (thankfully it was [...])and thought it delightful in appearance, even though the horse and doll were long since lost, all SEEMED intact, and I was pleased with the detailing, the faux button-tufted design in the seat and door interiors, etc; but as soon as I got it home, turned it sideways to clean it, a door fell off. It had been attached via little pegs that were LONG worn or snapped off, the door will have to be hot-glued on I think, only the other one will work. Maybe...but I find it does not stay latched. The bitchin' thing though are the LIGHTS. There are four little "lanterns" around the roof of the carriage that light up, and STAY lit for a good little while, when the "foot pedal" (to step in) is pressed. THAT's kinda cool. I am surprised they all still light. But that may not last...overall, a cheap easily shattered styrene piece of trash, formulated of that type of BAD plastic that water pitchers in the 1950's were made of, nasty polystyrene. Now if it were a slightly softer, yet resistant VINYL, well, maybe... But it still has eye appeal, if you just want to POSE, say, a sexy shirtless Prince Eric doll in it or something... ![]() Eddie Bauer˘î Deluxe Travel System - Stonewood $229.99 This travel set is great--it's compact and comes with everything you need. The "bucket" is an ideal car seat for newborn babies. The carriage is light weight and attractive looking, too. It's also good colors for a boy or a girl. |
