![]() Now What?: The Young Person's Guide to Choosing the Perfect Career $16.00 I read The Pathfinder first, which confirmed my feelings that I was in the wrong career. It also gave me the "kick in the butt" to resign. I was interested in testing and so did this through the Rockport Institute. It was extremely informative, useful and fun. I then started working with Nicholas Lore as my career coach and he suggested I read Now What. I hadn't bought the book initially because it states that it's for young adults starting a career and I was in mid-career. The book, however, was also very enlightening and useful in a different way than the other above elements. The activities in the book really do point you towards a career and makes the whole daunting process do-able. I have since recommended this book to many people and it has been raved about by people of all ages, backgrounds and skill levels. This book is the most useful career guide of the five books I've read. I highly recommend it. ![]() The Pathfinder: How to Choose or Change Your Career for a Lifetime of Satisfaction and Success $16.99 This was one of five career counseling books that I ordered and read. I found it very inspirational and it gave me that extra push that I needed to go from "I hate my job," to "I'm going to do something about it." The other four were basically useless. After reading this book, I have been working with the Rockport Institute to find my future career and it has been extremely helpful. I recently read 'Now What?' which was a better step-by-step guide for actually starting the process. I highly recommend both books. ![]() The Career Guide for Creative and Unconventional People (Career Guide For...) $14.99 Despite the clunky title (which apparently works since the book is in its 7th printing!) Eicklberry has created a guide book that offers practical insight and direction to help you identify your areas of interest and then encouragement to pursue your targetted career. For instance, to help you identify careers that match your creative impulse, she directs you to a variety of career/interest tests that you can take online for free or through a career counselor for a fee. She then provides encouragement on how to turn your interests into either a career or an afterwork hobby that will provide an outlet for your creative drive. In all, a valuable book. ![]() The Adventures of Johnny Bunko: The Last Career Guide You'll Ever Need $15.00 I loved this book, and my teenaged son loved it, as well. Excellent work -- highlighting important questions to ask yourself when choosing a career, or to ask at any career stage to know whether you're on track to achieve your goals. The comic book style presentation makes it an especially fun read. |
