Yeah this CD is ok. It's kind of like second hand serenade that was kicked up a little bit. However it's still pretty elementary and clichd as far as emo goes. Then again the CD is pretty old. Definitely not worthy of 4 or 5 stars considering what is out there now, including SC's EP Denial Feels So Good. That offering was an excellent example of this groups potential, and a preview of what I think we all are anxiously awaiting from their new album No Really, I'm Fine. So if anything buy this album before listening to the EP or the new album. Go in order of release and you won't be disappointed. These guys are starting to produce some great stuff. I truly expect that album to be the 5 star release. *Update* My final comment on this release was dead on. After their previous two cds, they bring it strong on their 3rd. It was exactly what I was hoping for. You could see flickers of greatness on Sunsets, and a couple great tunes on the EP, then on No Really, I'm Fine The Spill Canvas put it all together and bust out with a true 5 star album. Well done boys. Well done. |
