![]() My First Lab Duo-Scope $79.99 I have tried other microscopes and was very disappointed with the results. This microscope however is great! The price is very reasonable, it is very sturdy, and it is easy to adjust to view your specimens. The eye piece takes a little getting used to, if you put your eye too close you will see your eyelashes when you blink. I found that using my thumb and forefinger to make a circle then resting it over the top of the eye piece and then resting my eye on my hand with the rest of my fingers on the eye piece tube works well. Now, I can look through the eye piece without getting to close. I love being able to view the specimens with the above light and the below light which allows you to see different aspects of the specimen. I have found that using the above light shows a lot more detail of the specimens, it really makes the specimens sort of come to life. I ordered pre-made slides which one is of an ant and when I look at it with the above light it is amazing. Even hair looks amazing. I am very happy with my purchase and can't wait to share it with the kids. Also the microscope comes with the following accessories: 5 Blank Slides 4 Prepared Slides 1 Concavity Slide Slide Labels Cover glass Plastic Dropper 2 Bottles of non-toxis "stain" - (which is actually food color 1 red & 1 blue) Forceps Lens Paper - (which is a pad of approx. 50 sheets) Test Tube Petri Dish - (which is small, the size of an Eisenhower dollar coin) Straight Teasing Needle Cotton Swab on a long thin stick Long thin stick with no cotton ![]() Flash - Ca $35.94 This magazine is a spin off of "Tattoo" magazine. In both magazines you see many of the same tattoos over and over. It's as if there aren't thousands of tattooed folks out there to get good work from. The flash is fair. Some of it is just plain garbage. If you want to see a "great" tat mag buy "Skin Deep". It's out of the UK. They beat the US tat mags hands down. ![]() Venice, CA: Art and Architecture in a Maverick Community $40.00 A very nice book and it is great to see one of the houses down my street is in it. Perfect to have on the coffee table for visitors to look at ![]() JVCC CFL-5CA Copper Foil Tape (Conductive Adhesive): 1/4 in. x 36 yds. (Copper) $12.85 I purchased this tape as an alternative to soldering together solar cells without tabs. I used it both as tabbing wire by cutting the tape into 1/32" strips and as the current bus connecting strings of cells together. The tape is particularly strong, even at 1/32nd inches and conducts well. Resistance is nominal. I just put my first panel in the sun and I get full voltage. Thus far the adhesion is withstanding the heat from direct sunlight well. It also plays well with other non-adhesive metallic tapes. I was running out of this tape, so the connected it with aluminum tape. Again, it conducts well with less practically no resistance when stringing together aluminum tape with this tape. Although I have some reservations regarding longevity of the adhesive, the technical specs look adequate for long-term use. Overall, I would recommend this product for those looking at stringing together solar cells who do not want to solder. |
