My remarks are based upon a highlights disk, not the whole box. I want to be clear about that at the outset. It was sent to me as a promotional piece to offer a sample of the boxed set, which consists of Switched on Bach I & II, The Well-Tempered Synthesizer, and Switched-On Brandenburgs. The sound of those disks has been remastered; I don't own any of the originals, but can say that the sound on this sampler disk seems just fine for synthesized music of this sort. Back when this music first came out, I always thought it sounded kind of tinny and pathetic, but thinking back on it, I realize that the friends who occasionally played it for me (back when Wendy was still Walter) were generally playing it some pretty tinny and pathetic stereo systems.

If nothing else, this set proves that Bach's music is strong enough to survive all manner of machinations. Really, though, there are some nice things on this disk (and not all are by Bach--Monteverdi, Scarlatti, and Handel are also represented), and if you are a fan with fond memories of the "switched-on" recordings, the boxed set might well be a worthwhile extravagance.

Some may read my title and think "What is she talking about?" Well I mean that this is one of the few book series that I keep in my room. Of all the books I've ever read, these three are some of the best, and yet I hate them all the same...

Why couldn't the series end like we all wanted it to be? Finally, Nathaniel turned into someone you wanted to really to read about and care about and then...

Oh well. I enjoyed the series and highly recommend it.

I purchased these books for my 10-year old grandson to read during his visit. He reads anything not nailed down or prohibited and has worked through my personal textbook and literature library so I needed something for his pleasure reading. These excellent book provided him two days of glee and he asked of more.

Three of the very best from the King Of The World Of Music. Buy this set just to have it avaliable in a second location. Classics are forever. I still consider "Blood On The Tracks" the best of them all, but feel free to choose.
