When mine arrived the installed bulb didn't work. Luckily it came with a spare.

It's also fairly noisy. Cheap product, good for simple projects but I wouldn't recommend this for serious use.

It plain doesn't work. I tested extensively a couple of days before a planned trip into the boonies and am glad I did - it successfully did about 70% of what it claimed, about 11% of the time. I sent about 30 "OK" messages and 3 were logged. Of those 3, only 1 resulted in an email notification. And one of the three logged said "no information available from this device". No message, no GPS coordinates, nothing.

Save your money and buy a smart phone or something. This dog doesn't hunt.

I snowmobile. Not usually in the back country, but I love this sport and want to be able to go out and play with the max amount of saftey.

I researched this product for a very long time and really thought hard about the decision before parting with this much money. I know it's a life saving device, but I'm cheap.

I read every review at beaconreviews dot com, and I was convinved I needed a 3 antenna beacon. I narrowed it down to the pieps DPS.

Then I read a bunch of reviews at other sites that said the pieps had spike trouble. Confused, and just wanting to get on my sled and ride with the other boys, I reverted to the one I believe to be the easiest to use, and the highest rated 2 antenna beacon out there. I expect to find a better beacon some day, and this will make a perfect backup.

There is supposed to be a 3 antenna version of this, but it's already full season late.
