I ordered this series long before the movie came out. I really enjoyed it and was quite excited when I heard the story was being made into a film starring one of my absolute favs, Helen Mirren. This BBC series is MUCH better than the film. The relationships are explored more fully and I found the ending of the series much more satisfying. If you saw the film and liked it, I think you will prefer this series version.

I haven't seen the whole set,2 dvds so far and I'm so mouved by every details,the songs,the crisp pictures,the colors..gooshh..I even thing that the price of that treasure of humanity is not high enough,because enjoying this in Bluray def. on a 1080p HDTV and Bose home theater is just madness for me...
Guys I can't thank you enough for all the work you've done.Acquiring that much knowledge ans satisfaction in front of a TV set is so rare...Thank you!!!

I bought it as a gift. I believe it is a good set of DVDs. The only problem is that Amazon's web site could not send the item to the address in Canada that I entered. The U.S. Post office has no problem sending letters to that address, but not Amazon. I had to receive the product here in North Carolina and then send it to my relative in Canada. Not very efficient.

These are all accurate dramatizations of these excellent George Eliot novels. Were these theater films rather than TV series, they would deserve Oscars in many categories. Though nothing could fully convey the novels themselves, these film series should encourage many to read the originals--as intended. Highly recommended.
