While the gameplay can be said to be repetitive (very very much so) if you get hooked on the storyline+concepts like I did, it's totally worth it. That being said, you have to be the kind of person who is into things like that, otherwise this game is a let down.
For having to figure out the entire game from the booklet (if you read those) or not at all from the game, and getting pretty much no backstory at the beginning, and slashing your way down to the bottom again, and again, and again; you really have to be invested in the storyline.
Thats why a lot of people gave bad reviews and stunning reviews. So make sure you're into it before you buy it, if that makes sense...

Oh, and you have to be willing to die, it pushes the story along...

I bought this because I love to listen to cellos. On my Mark&Daniels,the sound is first rate, overall. ButI would have loved to have the cello given a bit more prominence, audio-wise. The accompanying instruments are aggressive enough to drown the cello out in the musical pictures, except for the first selection which is just fabulous.

Baroque is total madness. The gameplay is straightforward but at the same time very complex, so it can be enjoyed by many ages. Baroque has an insane storyline and most of it makes no sense, however once you start figuring it out, it's genious. I love this game very much and it's a real head-trip too. The only thing I don't like is the way your level and items reset whenever you leave the tower. It REALLY ticks me off. So if you don't mind level grinding you'll be fine but if you don't this isn't the game for you.
