I enjoyed the film very much. It is a fascinating story of a very talented but strange man. I am a Philadelphian and the fact that Louis B. Kahn was from Philadelphia gave special meaning to the story, showing familiar places in the city. I am going to recommend to my book club members to view the film.

The book was published awhile ago and doesn't acknowledge some of the newer architecture schools.
Additionally the author is not an architect, but did go to architecture school, and then became an architecture critic.
The book is comprehensive and objective, but there are better books on the subject.
Take this with a grain of salt as I am not an architect either, but am looking into becoming one.
Finally this book says in 150 pages, what it could have said in 50.
Some good information that shouldn't be overlooked, but.......

Well made scales. Use them on a daily basis for plan reading. The guys drop them all the time but they will withstand the test of time.

I agree with the mom who found this item disappointing. Actually, that's putting it mildly. (...) all you get is few pieces of acrylic, tracing paper, a few peel and stick windows and four colored pencils. The "manual" is a 4-page booklet with little useful information in it. The people selling this should be ashamed of foisting it on gullible consumers (like me). Borders on being a scam.
