For over five years, through the HSI e-Alert, Jenny Thompson has been uncovering important health information and exposing ridiculous health misinformation to an eager audience who simply can¡Çt get enough of her insightful commentary. These are defiantly not the stories you see covered in the mainstream news.

And Another Thing represents some of the best of Jenny¡Çs e-Alerts from over the years. You will find essays in this collection that will have you laughing out loud in amusement and others that will have you shaking your head in disbelief.

When Jenny Thompson started writing the HSI e-Alert five years ago, she never thought she would find something to write about every day. After all, it¡Çs health. It isn¡Çt the stock market or Hollywood, where something juicy happens every few minutes.

Boy, was she wrong!

Between the covers, you'll get:

* The truth about what¡Çs really contained in commercial milk (and how to avoid it without giving up milk products)

* The placebo myth (those ¡Èinert¡É sugar pills used in clinical trials often contain much more than a pinch of sugar)BR>
* The surprising techniques used by drug company salespeople to manipulate doctors (and that manipulation is often more than welcome)

* How the medical mainstream jumped through hoops to put a positive spin on study after study that revealed the grave dangers of synthetic hormone replacement therapy to address menopausal problems (all the while, of course, effective natural therapies have been available¡Äwithout the dire side effects)

* How the subsidiary of a well-known drug company knowingly sold contaminated blood plasma overseas (and nearly got away with it)

And that¡Çs just for starters.

Whether you're a long-time e-Alert reader or if you just started reading it, you¡Çll find "And Another Thing" to be full of fresh insights, as well as misdeeds that will set your blood boiling and even offer a few hilarious moments from over the years.

I knew I had to read the book because of my love of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy series. I admit that I was more that a little apprehensive that it was written by someone other than the original author and feared this might lead to my disappointment. Eoin Colfer did not approach this task eagerly as emulating an artist of Douglas Adam's stature is never a simple task and a failure can mark a man's career forever.

Having accepted this monumental mission I do believe that Colfer performed an excellent service to Adam's fans and family. His work was made more difficult by the eccentrically intricate details Adam's was famous for combined with the harsh pre-emptive attacks from critics who felt the whole attempt to add a sixth book to the trilogy was akin to some form of blasphemous treason.

I am happy to report that I was pleasantly pleased with Colfer's contribution. This book serves as an excellent encore to a science fiction fantasy loved by millions and a sound tribute to an author admired by fans from every corner of the universe.

This novel consist of six interconnected tales of two lovers - - Billie and Francis. Both are affluent and educated. Life is easy and genteel for both of them. Billie is a young, somewhat unkempt and non-glamorous college professor married to her childhood sweetheart, an economist. Francis is a dapper banker, married to a fashionable decorator. Their affair is examined from various vantage points, during and after its initiation.

The book is well-crafted but the context is conceptually mundane.
