The moment I opened this book, the visuals were the first thing that grabbed my attention. Unlike other animal encyclopedias, this book has real images of the animals. Other books have cartoons and drawings that just don't give you that satisfaction you want when you research an animal. There are tons of visuals, so this book would be a nice gift for children who are interested in animals. The book is also well organized. It's separated by color on the edge of the pages by mammals, birds, reptiles, etc. The text is a little difficult to read if you're a child, but the visuals make up for it.
Although I was really satisfied with the purchase of this book, I didn't like how the text was so tiny. My vision isn't impaired or anything, but i have to put the book pretty close to my face in order to read the whole paragraphs. I also thought that they didn't have enough information on the animals. It does provide the general information of the animal, but it didn't go into detail. I guess that if there was too much information on an animal, the encyclopedia would go on forever. I don't think these flaws should stop you from buying this book. It's indeed an overall worthwhile purchase, because now when I'm bored, I can just take this book out and start reading or look at the wild animals.

I almost did not buy them because of one review said they look cheap. Actually, they are not. They look pretty real. My 3-year old had great fun with them. He has a lot of match box cars. These animals are small enough to put on tops of them. So he could move them from one place to the other. They give toddlers somethings to imagine.

My daughter loves these and they're of decent size for small hands. The giraffe is bigger than I thought it would be. Seem durable and a decent toy for the animal loving types of kiddos.

My sons are 5 and 8 years old and have truly enjoyed these DVD's for over 3 years now. All 4 DVD's are both entertaining and educational. The songs are cute. I think the price is fantastic for what you get and this DVD set makes a great gift for children 3-6 years old.
