I am not, as a general rule, a vampire series fan. However, this series grabbed me from the get go because it was humorous and witty while following a semi-believable scenario. I was sad to see it cancelled without a chance to bloom. It was placed at a bad time (Prime-Time Friday night, hello, as if anyone stays home?) and when it didn't get the rating they hoped for, they pulled it - just as they have done with so many other good shows.

The show begins with the "good guy" being a vampire with morals. Who's source of food is the bloodbank or the occasional evil-doer. He has a special affinity for a woman reporter that he saved from his ex-wife/vampire sire while she was very young. The woman doesn't know that he is a vampire, but does know that he is not "normal", enter the sexual tension... It's a series worth watching, just be careful for the loose ends let down since they never finished this series.

The movie is amazingly brave for its realistic representation of the poor in Egypt with their extreme poverty, social /political corruption, and the cruelty of their lives.
However, the direction is neither realistic nor logical. There isn't any smooth transition between scenes to prepare the viewer to move from one life changing event to another.
I don't want to seem petty, but the main female actress (Sumaya Khashab) is supposedly a very poor woman. Did it cross the director's mind to make her lose some 20 pounds to fit the image of a starving woman? She is a beautiful woman, but come on, it is the simplest duties of a director to have actors dress and look like the roles they are playing.
