![]() Ken Burns: National Parks - America's Best Idea $99.99 The DVD's brought back some warm memories. There was a statement that visiting the National Parks is 'like coming home', I believe this to be very true. I believe very American should be given the opportunity to view these wonderful DVD's I know my family enjoyed them. It was like coming home. If these DVD's are not in every school in America they should be, the history lesson was inspiritually. ![]() Americas: The Changing Face of Latin America and the Caribbean, 3rd Edition $27.95 I had to read this book for a class but I actually enjoyed it. It was very interesting and gave a good overview of Latin American history. ![]() America - The Complete Greatest Hits $18.98 Were all compiled and put on this album. An earlier 'Greatest Hits' has been out longer, but it was very lacking in the material, which this album has. America was one of those bands who had a very long run with a sound that was, not unique by any means...just catchy. That catchiness would eventually be made into their own style, and change and grow with them. As the scope of Pop music changed, America made it through those changes well enough...managing to have several hits in several years that many people remember. And just when the fickle record buying public was certain that America was finished with their string of hits, they managed a comeback with "You Can Do Magic", written and profuced by Russ Ballard. Several more albums followed, and a few more hits for this soft rock/folk duo. It seems that when you get to the end of this lengthy cd, you feel that there might have been more, well there was,it was just that like most bands of their sound and time...they began playing to smaller and smaller audiences, and they began releasing their newer material on independent labels. For anyone who either grew up with America, or has a fond recollection of what they were doing when these songs were on the radio, this is the album for you:) |
