![]() Alive: The Living, Breathing Human Body Book $29.99 Look at "Alive's" cover. You see the muscles of a face, a skull, a brain, an eye, an eye socket, and teeth. Any anatomy book shows you these elements of the body, but how many show you these features simultaneously with depth, dimension and texture? Press the Try Me button on the cover and the brain's neurons fire like Christmas lights. Fabulous stuff and it's just the cover, just the beginning of a fascinating exploration to the systems of the human body. In the days before computers, and there were such days, a book like this would have been a state of the art presentation of the inner workings of the human body. Even in this modern era of computers and ubiquitous special effects, it's still a thrill to see three dimensional organs rise from the page with amazing detail and realism. The lights and sounds are powered by a replaceable battery, one that lasts a very long time and may outlast the book. My only complaint is the relentless beating of the heart that can't be turned off unless one parly closes that particular page. DK books never disappoint. Here's a wonderful book for the budding doctor or scientist. ![]() Alive! Soy Ultra-Shake Vanilla, 2.2 lbs Powder $40.99 I bought the Alive tablets and they gave me a stomach ache so I went back to the mix which I like so much better because my body absorbs the drink quickly and gives me great energy and a sense of well being. ![]() Alive (Album Master) $0.99 What an awsome group. This is one of the best songs that I have heard from a band in a long time. This is the best purchase I have made all year and I couldn't have picked a better day to purchase it the day before Thanksgiving. I would like to give thanks to the band for a creating such a wonderful song that everyone can relate to at one point in their life. ![]() Alive - Director's Cut Edition $29.95 ** 2002. Written and directed by Ryuhei Kitamura. Based on a comic book. Tenshu Yashiro, after having been condemned to the electric chair, is given a second chance to live. He's locked in a room with another prisoner and their reactions are observed by scientists. Although the first 15 minutes are interesting because we don't know what the movie is really about, ALIVE disappoints very quickly. The director mixes an alien entity, weird flashbacks that don't bring anything to the storyline, mean politicians who don't hesitate to slaughter nice scientists and so on. Ryuhei Kitamira doesn't have anything to say to his audience. Already forgotten. |
