![]() Mr. Monk And the Voodoo Curse $1.99 I sure don't want this show to end but this is its last season. I am enjoying each episode as if it were my last bite of a particularly fabulous chocolate bar. I just finished the latest episode where Natalie thought she was going to lose her head and die because she received a voodoo doll of herself like that. She absolutely freaked out and Monk was thrown into a tizzy because he had to cope on his own! I figured out the murderer early on, which is typical for me with the Monk episodes. I consider the show more of a comedy, or a dramedy, than a mystery. The mystery is fun but it is the characters, especially Monk himself, who make this show such a delight. He has his own psychiatrist. He drives the SFPD nuts but it is dead in the water without him. The captain and his sidekick Randy are hilarious as always. Randy chewed the head off a gingerbread cookie while Natalie was being protected by Randy at home and she almost killed him as losing her head is why she was in hiding from the voodoo killer. It is that kind of comic detail which makes this show such a winner. ![]() Unlock Your Intuition: How to Accurately and Reliably Access Your Most Valuable Resource $16.95 Use your intuition, and you'll discover the 5-star reviews for this book are fake. Compare them, the "people" who wrote them, and you'll notice the pattern. My intuition is guiding toward another book on this topic that doesn't need fake reviews to generate sales. ![]() How to Shoot Fast & Accurately $34.95 DVD Chapter Menu Outline: Introduction Proper Equipment - This chapter takes a look at custom parts and modifications made to pistols, magazines and holsters to give shooters small advantages in competition. The Art of the Draw - Lenny Magill analyzes the draw and shooting style, techniques and methods of each shooter as they are shown drawing firing their guns. The competition shooters are Rob Leatham, Brian Enos, Jerry Barnhart, Chip McCormick, J. Michael Plaxco, Ken Tapp. Bob Munden is not part of the competition. But, he is shown in this video not with a custom modified semiautomatic and holster. Instead, he uses a western style pistol and holster and shoots from the hip draw. His time is faster than all of the competition shooters. The fastest competition shooters were Ken Tapp at .84 seconds and Brian Enos at .82 seconds. But, Bob Munden shoots with recorded speeds in the range of .45 and .13 seconds. One on One with the Pro's - Lenny Magill interviews each of the competition shooters about their training and preparation for shooting competitions. There are good tips here for those who want to listen to and learn how to increase their shooting speed. One of the things some of the shooters have in common is the emphasis they put upon good dry fire practice. Sweet Spot Theory - Lenny Magill hypothesizes that the front sight of the gun has a proper location in the line of the shooters site that will produce accurate shooting results. Shooters train their bodies to remember where this proper location, the sweet spot, is with repetition so that they don't have to think about it while drawing and shooting. Their body already knows where and how to point the gun to the target. The eyes and mind only verifies the shot. As the previous reviewer said, the DVD cover for this video indicates that in plays for 60 minutes. But, it actually plays for only 47 minutes. All the other DVDs produced by Lenny Magill that I have bought do play for the full 60 minutes. This is a loss of almost a quarter of the playing time expected. So, I also give the DVD only 3 stars. Otherwise, I would have given it 4 stars if it had actually played for 60 minutes. Other similar media products: Combat Pistol - John Shaw talks about the advantage of shooting smoother and more efficiently over trying to shoot faster. Tom Campbell of Team Smith and Wesson gives an excellent demonstration of pistol recoil and how to control it in order to shoot faster. Tactical Pistol Marksmanship: How to Improve Your Combat Shooting Skills - Gabriel Suarez gives good training advice on how to practice dry fire sessions, practice shooting fundamentals until your skill becomes smooth action, Then increase the tempo of the repetitions and series of shots to learn to become faster at shooting. Advanced Self Defense, Volume 2--DVD - Bill Wilson demonstrates the same basic practice drills that will lead to becoming a faster shooter as recommended by Gabriel Suarez in his book towards the last part of this video DVD. Handgun Workout--DVD - Lenny Magill shows hand gun owners how to become better shooters by practicing dry fire routines. This is a very good video for those who want to improve their shooting and dexterity at handling the handgun.
