 The Dude Abides: The Gospel According to the Coen Brothers $14.99 The cover of the book is a bit misleading as it's not so much a book about the Big Lebowski or the Dude. It's more of an analysis of the Coen Brothers' entire catalogue of films. Each one is broken down and summarized (though a little too thoroughly if you ask me -- it contains some spoilers) and then the author looks for deeper meanings and themes. Not sure I always agree, but it's interesting. Overall, it would make a good companion piece to an actual study of the films themselves. If you are planning to take or teach a course on the Coens' filmography, then this might be a good text to consider.
