Well, first of all, the price was excellent. To get the entire series (2 seasons plus pilot etc.) for this price was unexpected! As for the content of the series, i had never seen it before and was a bit disappointed.

The first season was great, but the second season felt like the beginning of a long series. There should have been more seasons to wrap up the story. Season one is one long story with a good and hopeful ending. It should have stopped after the first season or gone 3 or 4 more seasons to reach a proper finish.

I read somewhere that Yancy Butler had to go to rehab and they cancelled the show.

The characters are fairly good: All the cops are good, Ken Irons is pretty good, although not as big and strong as the comic, and Ian Nottingham is sometimes laughable in his manorisms and pouting face. The comic showed him as stoic (i think) and this show makes him childlike mostly.

Lastly, (obviously the budget wasn't there) the Witchblade doesn't really do much cool stuff. No shooting fire, minimal organic tendrils or morphing. Mostly it's metal and either sword-gauntlet, armor or both. It seems its only powers are blocking bullets (which gets really old) and giving Pezzini some psychic powers (plus some time control).

Super Witchblade fans would like it in their collection. Casual viewers may not.

This is an excellent movie. Don't compare it with other thriller's, and don't compare it with the book, just watch it and enjoy. I really enjoyed the evil villain role played by Yancy butler in this made for TV thriller. Deirdre (Yancy Butler) is a beautiful psychotic woman who attempts to get her ex husband David (Nick Mancuso) back. When he tells her he's married and rejects her advances. Deirdre befriends his new sweet and innocent wife Molly (Suzy Amis)by posing as a psychiatrist, and is secretly hired by Molly to treat their son Michael. Molly share's her own problems with Deirdre who, becomes outranged when she learns from Molly that David never told her that he was divorced. Deirdre becomes hell bent on destroying David and his family, and won't stop at nothing not even murder.

Most movies ask for a suspension of disbelief; this trite piece of nonsense demands that you buy into a plot full of two-dimensional cardboard characters whose actions and dialogue are so full of clich���s, magical coincidences, and stereotypes that you can predict everything before it occurs -- when you aren't laughing at how bad it is. After agreeing to assist a crooked D.A. by pretending to be an eyewitness in order to convict a mobster, our heroine finds her life in peril from not only the nasty, evil mobster but also the mean old bad D.A. himself. Her apparently phenomenal talent as a make-up artiste somehow equips her to disguise herself AND to become a great actress who can fool everyone, including detectives and lawyers, AND to hatch an implausible plan to fake her own murder and frame the crooked D.A. for killing her. She tricks a rugged, honest, handsome maverick cop into unknowingly assisting her, but -- darn the luck -- they fall in love. Her "ingenious" scheme depends on various other people improbably doing, saying, and thinking exactly the things that she anticipates, and even placing themselves precisely where she wants them to be at the time she wants them there -- and miraculously, every other human being involved in this ridiculous film does just what she needs them to do. Gosh, it's almost as though it were... oh, I dunno, scripted? I watched this movie on a certain cable movie channel that caters to female viewers, and although I generally do not care for the often-derogatory term "chick flick," this movie is a BAD one.
