![]() Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out! The Rolling Stones In Concert [40th Anniversary Deluxe Box Set] [3 CDs + 1 DVD] $59.98 OK, I have to admit I saw the Stones and company perform in '69 so I may have a different perspective-- arguably one that is more accurate. Yes the set is overpriced and there could have been more material packaged more efficiently etc. but, I must take issue with the reviews I read questioning the value of including the Stones unreleased material because they were not great performances of those songs as well as the value of including the opening acts. In terms of the performances of the unreleased Stone's material, their rendition of Fred McDowel's "You Got to Move" and performances of the standards "I'm Free" and "Satisfaction" are just as good if not better than any of the bootleg versions I've heard from the '69 tour. The sound quality is far superior. To characterize B.B. King and Ike and Tina Turner as opening acts and some how less than worthy of inclusion in the set misses the point of the whole reason for the 40th anniversary release, that is to give the to give the listener the flavor of the "69 tour. B.B. King's sings powerfully and plays some stinging single string runs throughout his performance and while its arguably not as soulful and intimate as "Live at the Regal" (but what is), it is clearly one of his better live recordings. The material from Wolfgang's Vault notwithstanding. Back in the day I saw Ike and Tina Turner perform numerous times and this performance is certainly one of their better ones. After all both opening acts would no doubt be at their best performing with the Stones. In terms of the price, wait (if you can for a few months) and purchase it used or download the MP3 for about half the cost of buying the set. ![]() Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood: A Novel $13.95 This book resonated within me. It spoke of relationships between mothers, sisters, daugthers and friends and I could related to each of these. In our lives, we are are in turn daughters, sisters and mothers, wives and lovers too, and I related to Sidda in her quest for her mother's love, to Vivi even in her darkest moments, to Caro in her protectiveness of her friend. For me, it was just about life, as it happens to people... and that what struck my heart. I thought the book was well written, beautifully paced... I went from page 65 to page 800 without even realizing it. Some characters are strongs, other a bit more absent, but it didn't make the book any less strong. I would strongly recommend this book. ![]() I Can Transform Ya $1.29 I have been trying to get over the infamous incident and allow Chris Breezy to get his act together and prove himself worthy again. I am still not totally there; however, CB did it with this one. This is one hot jam. At least when I listen to this jam, I have been transformed to accepting him back on the scene. I can rock wit this all night!!! Can't wait for the full album drops. LOVE IT!!!! ![]() Brother LC51Y Yellow Ink Cartridge $12.99 This is NOT the product that arrived. Though it was advertized as OEM it is in fact a brother COMPATIBLE. And a useless one at that. Rather than the hassle of returning it I tried it --- it doesn't work. THIS IS NOT A GENUINE BROTHER PRODUCT. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE -- I regret I can't give this NO STARS -- it doesn't deserve even one. |
