Ivor Novello Songs

I bought this CD because I loved the renditions of the Ivor Novello songs on the "Gosford Park" soundtrack. The renditions on this CD are terrible! The orchestra in the background is fine, and I like the melodies of the songs. It's the screeching soprano throughout every song that ruined it for me. The singing drowns out the music, and the words of the songs are barely intelligible. I am much happier with having bought the "Gosford Park" soundtrack for six well done Novello songs that I am with this CD of 20 unlistenable songs.
