 Star Trek Starship USS Voyager NCC-74656 $219.99 Rick Sternbach, a longtime artist friend, was hired by Gene to work on "ST:The Next Generation" and he DESIGNED hull 74656. Revell and some other outfit (sorry, I don't recall the details) put out model kits of Voyager, which I always thought was just the cutest little skateboard of a starship ever seen on screen -- yeah, "little", Voyager is longer than the original TOS Enterprise at a little more than 1000 feet compared to a little under for 1701-no-bloody-A-B-C-or D. Rick says the Voyager produced by Playmates is "the most faithful reproduction on the market" and if this is the Playmates version, it is worth every frickin penny they're asking for it! I have it on the best of possible authority -- the man who designed and oversaw the construction of the starship we've seen on the screen! Oh, if I had the money now! Oh, if I had $30 a decade ago! This won't last long, kids, even at this price ... this is a VERY GOOD collector's item! Star Trek Voyager - The Complete First Season $69.98 I neglected to watch this series for quite sometime, I do not know why, maybe it's because they had a female captain here, well, I finally decided to stop being stubborn, and check this series out, bought the first 2 seasons, and I'll tell you, I fell in love with this show right from the pilot episode 'Caretaker 1&2', I'm not gonna play spoiler, but right from that episode, it draws you in, and doesn't let go, I've watched the first 6 episodes (7 if you count Caretaker as 2 episodes which it really was, but they just combined it into 1), and I got right into them, this series wastes no time getting the viewers interested. Before I got into this, I was already into Star Trek: The Original Series/The Next Generation, so I just decided I wanted to see what Voyager was all about, and I do not regret that, I find this is going to be a great series, and I have a good start with it having the first 2 seasons. So bottom line, if you like Star Trek: The Original Series/The Next Generation, get this, you will not be disappointed, I know I didn't mention Deep Space Nine, I'm not a fan of it, I will always think of Star Trek taking place aboard a star ship, not a space station, cool idea, but it shouldn't have used the 'Star Trek' name, The Original Series/The Next Generation/Voyager are very deserving of the Star Trek name, and 'Enterprise' is just garbage, I wouldn't even bother with that one, but this review isn't about that. One more thing I must mention, is the acting of the crew is very fine, especially Capt. Janeway and Mr. Tuvok, and the rest of the crew as well, it all works, this series never seems to get mention in the Star Trek catalog, I'll never understand, this rates way above Deep Space Nine, yet Deep Space Nine gets mentioned alot more, Trek fans go out and venture into this series, as it's great. |
