I've never understood why the YMCA had trouble with the song "YMCA". It's always seemed to me they should instead use it as a theme song.

I'm told the song is objectionable because there are allusions to sexuality in it, but if so, they are well hidden, because I find nothing objectionable in the lyrics. I mean, sure, we used to joke about the "real" meaning of the old hymn "In the Garden" too, but folks who are so inclined can read inuendo into pretty much anything.

Thus, although the title of this cut labels it [Explicit], I found nothing explicit about it.

As for the music itself, it sounds identical to the original Village People version I remember being played on the air back when the song YMCA first became a hit. I loved listening to it back then, and am glad I can again now.

i have loved the village people since their first song was played on the radio and loved this movie but i will say you have to be a fan to appreciate it lol
